The Boston Celtics stormed out to a commanding lead and never trailed in their 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals on Wednesday night.
Kristaps Porzingis led the way for the Celtics with 25 points and 18 rebounds, while Jayson Tatum added 19 points and Jaylen Brown chipped in with 17.
The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic's 20 points, but the rest of the team struggled to find their shots. Dallas shot just 34% from the field and 20% from three-point range.
The Celtics led by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter before settling for the 18-point victory. Game 2 of the series is set for Friday night in Boston.
