Dominant Stretch in Game 2 Proves Crucial

Boston Leads Series 3-1

Boston, MA - A dominant 2-minute span in the 3rd quarter proved to be the turning point as the Boston Celtics pulled away in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. The Celtics won 102-88 and now lead the series 3-1.

The Mavericks had a 5-point lead with just over 6 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, but the Celtics went on a 12-0 run to take control of the game. Jayson Tatum scored 8 points during the run, including a pair of 3-pointers.

The Celtics maintained their lead throughout the 4th quarter, with Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart contributing key baskets down the stretch. Tatum finished the game with a team-high 27 points, while Brown added 24 points.

Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 26 points, but he was held to just 6-of-18 shooting from the field. Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points for Dallas.

Game 5 of the series will be played in Boston on Monday night. The Celtics can close out the series with a win, while the Mavericks will be looking to extend the series to a sixth game.
